What is Collin College ?
Collin College is a student and community-centered institution committed to developing skills, strengthening character, and challenging the intellect.
Since offering its first classes at area high schools in 1985, Collin College has expanded to serve more than 59,000 credit and continuing education students each year. The only public college based in the county, the college offers more than 100 degrees and certificates in a wide range of disciplines, including new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cybersecurity degrees.
What is Canvas ?
Collin College uses Canvas as the online course management system for the college. Canvas is accessed through the college’s online portal. Before Canvas, Blackboard’s tool was the standard for distance classes at Collin College
This introduction is designed for students who have never used the Canvas learning management system or who are just getting started. If you have any questions once your course starts, you can also use this as a reference. After going through this resource, you should have a basic understanding of the Canvas tool set and be ready to begin using Canvas with your classes – regardless of whether you intend to take online or face-to-face courses on campus.
