The site originally encompassed more than 180 acres and consisted of three piers and a building that served as headquarters for the Atlantic Division of the U.S. Naval Reserve with space to accommodate 100 officers and 400 enlisted men along with storage areas for fuel oil, gasoline, kerosene, lubricating oils, and other materials. There is an initial $200 registration fee which covers all administrative processing such as SSN application, background check fees, and medical examination fees. After completing basic training (usually eight weeks) at a nearby RTC or “A” School is one of the various ratings needed by our Corpsman or Construction Battalions—or if you’re already qualified in these skills—you will be sworn in as a Naval Reservist and then you’ll pay an annual $225 dues.
